Hazelwood Squash News Letter
March 20th, 2011I hope you have all now received your subs letter and have budgeted for payment on the 01/04/11. This is Friday week but if you want to make payment before then please feel free to do so. The preferred method of payment is for you to put the money on your ‘squash account’ and ask Nick, by e-mail, to take the £175.00 from your account. If you still want to pay by cheque or cash then this OK.
This week the 1st team have a crunch match at Coolhurst and need your support. It is a top of the table clash and basically the winner should go on to win the league. Coolhurst is about a 20 minute drive from the club in Crouch End and the address is Courtside, London N8 8EY. Hazelwood will have its strongest side available with Adrian playing at 1, with Woolhead, Timmsy and Gunts following on.
If we do look like winning the league the final game of the season is down the club on April 6th and it would be good to get a good crowd. Maybe we will get a curry night together but let’s get over the next match before seeing what it might be possible to arrange at short notice.
The second team had their final match of the winter season and will finish in the top half. A big thank you to Kevin Fagg who was once again captain throughout the season and he advises me this is DEFINITELY the last time. So who will step up next year? If you are good enough to be in the second team then please come forward if you are interested. A thank you also to Mubeen who provided a tiffinbites curry for the home matches which was much appreciated by players from both sides.
We have some wedding bells on the horizon with the final Huckstep boy getting betrothed in August this year. Ben the only single Huckstep remaining will marry Cara an Irish/Italian blend who I had the good fortune to dance with at Neil and Trudy’s wedding party before she fell over. Cara’s brother is a rock star and used to play at the club as a junior – Julian Perretta – www.julianperretta.com
They will be wed up town in an Italian/Irish church? The stag night is still up in the air but the latest is Cork!! I would like to wish Ben and Cara well and I hope there is a few more column inches in this story.
Please get your league games in a do not forget squash club night on a Sunday and Racketball club night on a Friday.
Regards
Squash Committee
